Two men stole cigarettes and cash from a shop after holding up staff with what is believed to be a handgun.
The men, wearing hooded tops and scarves covering their faces, entered the Birk Hill Convenience Store on Fir Road at Eckington sometime between 6.10pm and 6.20pm on Tuesday.

Two female members of staff were working at the time and one of the men approached the counter, producing what is thought to be a handgun, and ordered one of the women to fill a white carrier bag with cigarettes and money. The other man stayed by the door to keep watch. The staff member filled the bag and the men then ran off.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the offenders escaping to call them on 0345 123 3333. They are both described as being in their 20s and wearing gloves and they spoke with South Yorkshire accents.’
