A coffee morning at Barlborough Little School to raise funds for community gardening projects in Barlborough was a huge success with a grand total of £460. Visitors were treated to home baking there were fun activities for the children with the face painting and name the teddy bear competition. Organiser and Chair of the Friends of Barlborough in Bloom, Christine Sanderson said: ‘It was a lovely morning. Everyone had worked so hard to make it an enjoyable event. We are delighted with the money raised because it will help us fund bulbs and seeds for community planting projects in Barlborough. I would also like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Richard Haigh the Tesco Community Champion who came along to offer funding advice and support to Barlborough community groups. He was busy all morning and I’m sure many groups will benefit from Tesco’s support.’ Pictured at the fund-raising coffee morning are Jessie Partlett, Richard Haigh and Christine Sanderson.’
