‘Barlborough will soon be blooming with daffodil delights after young and old all pitched in to plant bulbs for an annual cancer charity event to remember loved ones. Over 6.000 daffodil bulbs were planted on Slayley Green for the fifth Marie Curie Field of Hope event, led by Friends of Barlborough in Bloom. Chairman, Christine Sanderson said members were delighted with both the response and the funds donated for the cause ‘It was a lovely morning and we managed to get all the bulbs in. Everyone worked really hard and it was a very enjoyable social occassion,’ she said. ‘We had over 75 people who came along. The children in particular had a fabulous time. Moreover, when the daffodils appear next March, the whole area will look fabulous.’
