Barlborough Jubilee Celebrations

The Barlborough Jubliee Committee has organised a family disco for Saturday 2nd June in the Church Institute on Church Street. The tickets are £2 each and include food. There are only 140 tickets and they are selling fast. There are posters around the village advertising the event, more details on who to contact for tickets to follow.

The Barlborough Jubilee Committee have also bought engraved medals and a flag for the school children which will be presented at a special ceremony in school.

Also, many residents will also be meeting on Slayley Green on Saturday 2nd June from noon onwards as part of the Big Lunch . All you have to do is bring your picnic and chill out with your neighbours and friends. The more the merrier!

The Jubilee Committee is just a group of residents who got to together to make sure something happened in Barlborough to mark the Jubilee. This was after the Parish Council had been approached by the school and various community organisations to do something – they have done absolutely nothing at all.

The money for the medals, flags and event at the Church Institute has been donated by a Barlborough resident who was absolutely appalled that the Parish Council weren’t organsing anything for the Jubilee.
